Manoris – a fully local experience, epic curries for budget prices! Multiple different curries surrounded by plants
PALM – A concept hotel where ‘London Shoreditch meets Sri Lankan jungle. With a Crossfit style gym and excellent coffee and food at the pavilion, it’s the perfect destination for a slow day of good food and relaxing next to their beautifully staged swimming pool.
Ceylon Sliders – A huge shop, restaurant and art gallery with a central spot in the middle of Ahangama beach. Their falafel bowl is delicious
Tahini and Friends – A relaxing spot if you enjoy yoga, hummus or both!
Maria Bonita – Cute and quaint cafe run by Cris, a central part of the Ahangama expat community, offering Spanish inspired casual dining (amazing energy balls)
Moochies – A cafe with a coworking space, great Ozzie food, especially the chocolate smoothie bowl. A great coffee too!
Abrazo – A great Mexican place – far better than you’d expect in Sri Lanka.
Samba – Casual dining spot with a chilled shaded seating area. Great coffee

The Lighthouse – THE spot for sunset. Situated on the top floor of a hotel: great cocktails and one of the best sunsets you’ll find: undisturbed views of the sun and the sets of waves rolling in form a gorgeous vantage point.
Kaffi – Great coffee and cake can be enjoyed in an air conditioned escape from the heat, or out on their lawn, just steps away from the beach and a surf.
Abode By The Beach – High quality chefs churn out finely plated, delicious dishes by a really talented chef, often accompanied by live music and DJs
Vertigo – Amazing pizza from an Italian team. Often fully booked due to their great reputation. Unfortunately no vegan cheese
Kurulu Bay – On the edge of Koggola lake, this 5 star hotel has a great laid back cafe and restaurant, that acts as an idyllic escape from the hustle and bustle of beachfront life. One of the best espressos in the South too. Enjoy a swim after lunch!
Big Mighty – The best burgers in town. Their ‘Scooby snacks’, available in Chicken or Tofu are both delicious.
Veda – An unbeatable healthy, lunchtime rice and curry buffet, with delicious juices and views of the Kabalana beach.
Nuga House – A yoga hotel with a casual dining cafe featuring healthy ingredients and nourishing plates
Black Honey – An inland, paddy view setting: really high quality food and extremely good coffee. Featuring a small pool and policy for obliging laptop working, its a great daytime spot
Persian Kitchen – a casual spot with a laidback vibe, offering mouthwatering kebabs with a Persian touch, right on the beachfront. It gets busy, so make sure to make a reservation.
The Hideout – a Mexican style restaraunt offering burritos, tacos, guacamole with plantain chips and tequila based cocktails. Taco Tueasdays is a great deal to.
Daffodil – Famous for their sizzling seafood platters, now served ‘naked’ if you don’t enjoy the mess of deshelling. Often has live music and has lots of tables.
Koha Surf Lounge – Open from midday, Koha offers a vibrant array of healthy foods, along with delicious burgers. They also have homemade desserts: the peanut butter cup is our favourite.

Kabalana Beach – Only a few minutes walk from most of our villas! Possible the most beautiful beach in the South. Wide, white sand, gorgeous waves and quaint handmade wooden sunbeds adorning the sand.
Jungle Beach – Jungle Beach offers seclusion with golden sands, views of Rumassala Hill and the Indiant Ocean. It’s an ideal spot post-trek, where you can cool off in the inviting blue waters after a jungle adventure.
Dalawella Beach – The best place to swim with turtles! You can also swing at the famous palm tree rope swing and take Instagrrammablae pictures at ‘Ship Rock’, a rock formes as the bow of a ship.
Unawatuna Beach – A perfectly enticing stretch of golden shore lined with restaurants, bars and beachfront hotels, the Unawatuna Beach is a must-visit if you’re looking to relax and enjoy the revels of this coastal town.
Koggala Beach – Koggala beach is the country’s longest beach, located just south of Unawatuna. A secluded and unexplored stretch that’s perfect for a long sunset walk.
Galle Fort – A walking tour is the best way to explore Galle Fort and the Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site with historical significance and attractions like the Galle Lighthouse and national museums.
Virgin White Tea Plantation – Tucked 3km back in Ahangama is this plantation. Famous for it’s Virgin White Tea which is painstakingly removed using white gloves and golden scissors. The tour involves tea and cake as well as learning how Cinnamon is farmed.
Peace Pagoda – The Japanese Peace Pagods is located on Rumassala Hill in Unawatuna. It is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places to watch the sunset on the island.
Sooriya Weaving Mills – Explore the authentic process of handloom cotton production by visiting the Sooriya Weaving Mills factory tour. Witness local women showcasing their craftmanship and have the opportunity to buy unique handmade items from the outlet shop.
Turtle Hatchery – This sea turtle hatchery rescues turtles who are in danger of losing their lives to the fishing industry, caught in nets or hunted or food. Great for families with children.
Udawalawe National Park – If you have a fondness for nature, particularly elephants, Udawalawe National Park is the ideal destination for you. It’s sure to captivate the entire family and is definitely worth a visit.
Yatagala Temple – It is one of the oldest rock temples in Sri Lanka and is believed to have been built about 2300 years ago. There is a vast terrace that provides a panaoramic view of the whole area.
Singharaja Rainforest – Sinharaja Rainforect in Sri Lanka is a UESCO World Heritage Site and a biodiversity hotspot, popular for eco-tourism. It is one of the few virgin forests left in the world.
